Because of negotiation and encryption overhead, connections through the Secure Server are unavoidably slower than other connections; thus it is not a good idea to serve your entire site in this fashion.
If you have a Virtual Domain and would like to be able to use a URL such as https://www.domain.com/ (SSL-enabled), you will need your own Digital ID from VeriSign. The current fee for this is $350 and details of the necessary registration are available from VeriSign.
