We have been providing Internet Services since October, 1995 and officially started publishing our online directory on March 12, 1996. Since then, we have seen a lot of developments take place on the Web and we have been working hard to keep up to the pace. The directory at the Glide site was developed to help local businesses make their Internet Presence known to potential customers. The Web is a vast place and being found is not always an easy task. This directory is here to help people in greater Vancouver and beyond easily find services and other businesses located here. We are constantly updating the site and welcome any suggestions that you may have for improvements.

6 Tips For Promoting your site:

  1. Register, Register, Register. Submit your site URL with all of the Search Engines and Directories. To quickly register at 200 Search Engines and Directories, use our Site Submission service.

  2. Include your URL or web address on your business cards, shop window, correspondence, advertising, and promotional literature. If you sell to other businesses or include a guarantee to your customers, your website address on the invoice is particularly effective because this is one piece of paper that will be held onto for a long period of time.

  3. Encourage other people and businesses to link their web pages to yours. Many sites will have a link page and a reciprocal arrangement is usually welcome.

  4. Be creative and update on a regular basis. This will keep them coming back. An on-line promotion or coupon offer can also be enticing to surfers.

  5. Monitor local news groups such as van.general, bc.general, van.forsale and van.jobs. Pick your spots and enter the discussion. Direct advertising is frowned upon, but including your name, slogan and web address in your signature is perfectly acceptable.

  6. Provide a link back to Glide. We’re here to help others to find you. If in a month or two, a visitor has misplaced your address, they will know that they can find you through Glide.
