Spotted! Glide's New Design

Today is an exciting day at Glide; we’re rolling out something we’ve been working on for a while - an updated design for the app.glide.com interface.  This is the first design update we’ve made since launching and are excited to roll it out! 

To commemorate the occasion, we chatted with Glide’s head of design, Jessica, to talk about the update.  

Why were you excited to work on this redesign? 

At Glide, we’re always striving to improve the product so our users can get things done more efficiently and effectively. Glide’s original Disclosures interface was the first stab of the product. Over the last year or so we were able to look at all the data collected from our users - what activities they completed, what feedback they submitted, what questions they asked to our support team - and realized there was so much opportunity from a visual as well as a user experience standpoint to make the experience even better!

What do you think users will like about the new design? 

We’ve added a step-by-step hero at the top of each transaction that makes it easier to follow where you are in the Disclosures process. We’ve also made it easier to mark tasks “complete” that may be completed outside of Glide’s system, so you can always have a complete picture of where a transaction is at. Lastly, we’ve integrated purchasing your CA mandated NHD report right into the set-up process, saving you time.

You’ll also notice a nice boost in the user interface design, illustrations, and colors!

What’s your favorite thing about the new design? 

The new design is definitely more organized, making it easier to find transaction information.

I always like to hear feedback from our users - we released the new design early to a select group and some of their feedback represents my favorite things.  “Very non-threatening to [the] non-tech oriented” felt like a great compliment; I always want to make sure we’re designing something that people can actually use and love using!

Is there anything else you want to share about the new design? 

I’m excited to release a version that should address some of the feedback we’ve gotten in the past—things like editing parties and viewing the full transaction details should now be easier to find. We’ve also introduced some design best practices like new navigation, workflow cards, and tabs that make the whole experience feel more modern.
